Kyrie is the Co-Founder and Director or Operations of Specialty Dog Training™ and Co-Founder & Board Member of Shelter to Soldier. Working behind the scenes, Kyrie is constantly in motion working in all facets of our organization. She is someone that wears many hats well and is a real asset to each organization. Kyrie is also co-founder and a big part of our development team for our school, National Academy of Professional Dog Trainers (NAPDT).

Though she has been an avid animal lover since her childhood, Kyrié’s professional and academic interests were in Sciences and Nutrition. Kyrié obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Biology at the University of San Diego, and her Masters of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences at San Diego State University. She has studied Spanish and Latin American culture throughout Southern California, Mexico, Argentina, and Uruguay. Kyrié has completed research in Nutritional Science on the topics of periconceptional health in low-income populations and birth outcomes, metabolic syndrome, childhood obesity, and cardiovascular disease. Kyrié has written grant proposals for research, and has presented her research at several professional meetings around the country. Kyrié and Graham launched Specialty Dog Training™ and Shelter to Soldier in 2012 with their shared passion for animals and helping Veterans from the perils of mental illness associated with combat. Today, she enjoys her work with Specialty Dog Training™, helping dogs and their families live better lives together and with Shelter to Soldier, training dogs, interacting with veterans, and planning community and fundraising events for the organization.
