Thank You for Reaching Out About Our Board & Train Programs

Absolutely. Trained dogs are more predictable, manageable, and enjoyable to live with. They reduce household stress and help create a safe, respectful relationship.

Practice regularly, reinforce commands in real-life situations, and set clear boundaries. Our team provides detailed transition support and post-placement guidance to help.

Real training takes time. At SDT, we don’t rush the process—we build trust with your dog, teach foundational skills, reinforce those skills, and then proof them under the 3 D’s: distance, distraction, and duration. Finally, we test in multiple environments and with different handlers to ensure consistency.

Short “quick fix” programs often create temporary results that slip quickly at home. For behavioral cases, we also have to consider age, breed, severity, and history of the behavior—all of which require time and patience to correct. Our programs are designed for lasting transformation, not quick gimmicks.

Our training is an investment in your dog’s future. With over 55 years of combined experience, multiple certifications, and national recognition, our team provides an unmatched level of expertise and care. The number of hours your dog receives in a 3–12 week camp would cost 6x more if charged at private session rates.

When you consider the years of improved behavior, safety, and freedom you’ll enjoy, the cost is small compared to the lifetime value of the results.

We understand—it’s never easy to be apart from your beloved companion. But this temporary separation is life-changing. Many dogs that come to us are at risk of being rehomed or euthanized without proper intervention. Even in less severe cases, the short time apart results in years of harmony, more freedom, and a stronger bond when your dog returns home. Think of it as a short-term sacrifice for long-term happiness.

Absolutely. Every Board & Train program includes owner handling lessons where we show you how to reinforce what your dog has learned. This is the only way to guarantee long-term success. Our trainers work directly with you so you leave confident, educated, and ready to maintain your dog’s training.

Demand for our programs is high, and for good reason—results matter. If another program has no waitlist and can start you tomorrow, ask yourself why. Like top-rated restaurants, hotels, or medical specialists, high-quality services often require a wait.

That said, we do everything possible to accommodate clients, and cancellations sometimes open earlier spots. The wait is temporary—but the results are permanent.
